This is not merely about our death, but about persecution and derision. Be prepared. Pray, think, study, act. The Kings were ready to act after study and reflection. They found Christ. They listened to the Angel. They did not give in to Herod.
Be awake. Here is the reliquary of the Kings in the Cologne Cathedral. I would love to see this someday.
